Departure in a modern and air-conditioned vehicle from Marrakech to discover the Tichka Pass (2260 meters above sea level) and its magical landscapes towards the South. Afternoon continuation towards Zagora. We cross the Little Atlas Mountains by the Tizi N’Tanifeft pass (1660 meters above sea level). Arrival in Agdez to take the track that leads to the kasbah of Alkaid Ali Tamnougale. Visit the Kasbah. We take the track through the Draa Valley and the sublime palm groves and ksour to Zagora. Dinner and overnight at the hotel.
After breakfast departure to Amezrou to visit the old Kasbah of jews and making jewels. Then departure to Tamegroute to visit Koranic library and the manufacture of green pottery, the underground kasbah. Lunch in Mhamid, then Departure in vehicle by a sandy track with a small stop at the hamada of Draa to see the fossils, pursuit to arrive at the dunes of Chegaga. Prommade in dromedary, to watch the sunset. Dinner and night under a nomad tent or under the stars.
At forty-five kilometers out of M’Hamid, the three hundred meter dunes stretch to the horizon. M’hamid is the lastoasis in the Draâ’ Valley. It was one of the staging points for trade caravans in the Sahara and also has ruins that are believed to be a historical site left of the firstJewishcity in Morocco, Tidri. Due to security problems the road is currently blocked by the Moroccan army. Thee is a dirt road near to it that passes by the ancient cemertry called Toum le Riam. “Thousands of mounts of rocks are believed to be the tombs of Jews killed by the Almohads in the 12th Century, accroding to Rick Gold of “Visiting Morocco.” The Jews of Tidri venerated the tomb of a holy man names Isaac Akkoium who is said to have been the founder of Tidri. Muslims also venerate the Akkouim under the name of “Sidi Moussa”.
Wake up early to watch the sunrise over the dunes, then breakfast. Departure for FoumZguid with possibility of a visit to the nomads, passage to Lake Iriqui, and the desert plateau dotted with acacias, Picnic in an Oasis for lunch, and then, departure to Ouarzazate via Taznakhte. Arrival in Ouarzazate around 5 PM.
After the breakfast departure for the visit of Ouarzazate: the Kasbah of Taourirt, the movie studios, then towards Ait Ben Haddou, lunch on the spot, afternoon visit of the Ksar classified with the world inheritance of UNESCO. We take the road through the village of Merzgane and the village of Ighrem, a small stop at Tadarte. Then cross the road to Marrakech crossing the Tizi Ntichka pass.
